ABOUT US Scenic Air started in November 2001 in Swakopmund, the coastal holiday town of Namibia. On the 1st of August 2002, the office in Windhoek, based at the Eros Airport, was opened. Since then the SCENIC AIR TEAM has been striving to provide a safe, efficient and reliable service to our customers. Today we operate a diverse fleet of aircrafts suited to the various destinations we serve. We cater for individuals and groups with varying needs. The aircraft types we operate serve the varying needs of our customers. SCENIC AIR offers flights to the following popular destinations: Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Sossusvlei, Luderitzbucht, Twyfelfontein and Palmwag area in Damaraland, to the Kunene River, Etosha and the Caprivi. Namibia is a large country and the popular destinations are far apart, making the Fly-in Safaris, Charter flights, or Namibian Sky Shuttle a popular solution for tourists. This makes the high wing, Cessna 210 an ideal aircraft to use in Namibia. The Cessna 210 has a passenger seating capacity of five. SCENIC AIR operates fifteen (15) Cessna C210s - Pilot & 5 passenger seats; one (1) Piper Navajo twin engine aircraft that can take up seven (7) passengers; one (1) Cessna 402B's twin engine aircraft, that can take up to six (6) passengers. When choosing your 'partner' for your Namibian Sky Adventure, here are some important points to keep in mind: Crew Training: Candidates are first interviewed and then evaluated by an independent aviation psychologist. Thereafter, if a non-Namibian pilot, their pilot's licence is validated by the Namibian Directorate for Civil Aviation. This validation training is facilitated by a reputable training academy in Windhoek. Once complete, the pilot receives familiarisation training as well as route training from our senior crew. Finally he/she is signed out by our Chief Training Captain. Only then may he/she join our crew and fly you around the country. SCENIC AIR has aircraft based in Windhoek as well as in Swakopmund. This is of huge benefit to our customers, as aircraft needn't be repositioned to collect passengers. The Office Team Our administration and flight operations personnel are specialists in the Namibian Aviation Charter sector. Their passion is - aviation. "Our goal is to exceed our customers' expectations of what service is all about!" |
